The visit by the National Association of Attorneys General( NAAG)

Hon. Karl Racine, Vice President of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) and the Attorney General of Washington D.C.; Hon. Kevin Clarkson, Attorney General of Alaska; Mr. Al Lama, Deputy Executive Director of NAAG, visited the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office and Intellectual Property Branch of Taiwan High Prosecutors Office (hereinafter referred to as the IP Branch Office) on the morning of October 22, 2019. Chief Prosecutor Wang Tien-sheng received the distinguished guests and presided over the meeting in the newly renovated Boyi building.

Head Prosecutor Chen Wen-chi gave a briefing about the major business conducted by the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office and the IP Branch Office. Prosecutor Lo Hsueh-mei, Prosecutor Chung Feng-ling, Prosecutor Chu Shuai-chun and Prosecutor Tsai Ming-yao participated in the discussion. Also, Prosecutor Investigator Tsao Cheng-hao introduced the Drug Data Center of the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office, and Section Chief Chieh Kuang-i talked about the work of protecting the victims and the ex-prisoners. The visitors asked a lot about the practical application of the system of civil remedy and criminal punishment of infringement of intellectual property rights. The visitors also expressed their interest in the after-care and victims protection practices and praised what we have done. Through the enthusiastic Q&A and exchanges, visitors learned more about the prosecutorial work, and criminal justice and restorative justice- designed to couple strength and gentleness- in our country.

During the lunch, the visitors, Chief Prosecutor Wang Tien-sheng and all the other participants shared information about the general work matters and the value of being a law practitioner. In a lively and convivial atmosphere, the visit and exchanges ended.
